Michigan Transportation Hall of Honor
As part of the National Transportation Week (May 14-20) celebration six individuals will be honored by induction into the Michigan Transportation Hall of Honor. The Hall of Honor was established to recognize the outstanding contributions men and women have made in the development of Michigan’s network of highways, roads, streets, transit systems, railroads, airports, and waterways.
With the induction of the 2006 honorees, 77 individuals have been honored in the Hall of Honor since it was dedicated in 1971. Former Michigan Department of Transportation director, Robert Welke, is one of the 2006 honorees being inducted. To learn more about the six 2006 inductees
